1. This is the "Be nice" rule. This is one you should have learned in kindergarten, but sometimes, people need a refresher course. Respect the feelings of others. No insulting, hate messaging, or harassing. If you don't like someone, deal with it in a mature manner. Discuss your feelings over PM if you're into that sort of thing, or just ignore them entirely.
2. Try to be as literate as possible. That means absolutely no chat-speak, spamming, swearing, god-modeling, supernatural things, or powerplaying. This is a literate roleplay forum and any posts like that will be deleted. There are a few exceptions to the powerplaying rule. If you are a leader, you may powerplay the cats for a ceremony. If your cat is unconscious or a kit, they may be picked up or moved. No other exceptions. This is a basic rule, don't make it any worse than it has to be.
3. No personal information will be given out on this site. That includes address, phone number, or age. If you want anyone to know those things, tell them over E-mail. As to the less personal information, such as e-mail address, birthday, and real name, it is your choice to tell people or not. Don't pester anyone to tell you, it is entirely up to them.
4. Keep it mostly PG. When it comes to battles, no more gore and blood then was in the books. Descriptiveness is usually great, but not with this. Also, same goes with the mating. "They mated" is as far as it goes.
5. Don't steal other people's work. If you need to have something, ask the owner if it is okay if you use it. If it's not, drop it. No pestering, harassing, or disrespecting the owner. If they do let you use it, always give credit. They worked hard on it, not you, therefore they deserve the credit, not you. Not only is it against my rules, it is against the law. Just don't do it.
6. Don't do anything too fancy with the text in your roleplays. You can change your color, but not to something blinding and make sure your size is not HUGE or really small. Also, please note that italicizing is used mainly for thoughts or dreams. Please do not overuse it.
7. Names should be original. No using names used in books. Graypaw is fine only if the warrior name is Graytail or something like that. No Graystripe or Graypool. Never take someone else's name. Names should be something cats know about. No angel, demon, dragon, griffin, winter, spring, summer, autumn, etc. Star, paw and kit are endings of leader names, apprentice names and kit names, respectively. They are not beginnings of names or the ending of warrior names. No cats in the same clan can have the same beginning name.
8. Bios must use the layout given in this rule. If you don't use this layout, you will be asked to change it. Don't change it and it will be deleted. The subject of the thread is the name of the cat the bio is for. Also, don't forget that bios have to be accepted by your leader before you can start roleplaying. You are responsible for editing the bio when something in your cat's info changes. You also need to post on the List of Characters board every time your cat changes rank.

9. You may join two clans at one time, with six characters altogether. If you wish to join a different clan, you must pm both that clan's leader and Dovestar. If they give you permission, you must then kill your characters in one clan to move to your new one, or you must shift all of your characters into your new clan. Do not do this often.
10. If a medicine cat or deputy position is open, you may apply for it by pm-ing the leader of the clan you wish to apply for. Please do not beg, whine, or plead. You will get it, or you will not.
11. Make threads where they are supposed to be. That means keeping out of character posts in the roleplay boards to a minimum. There's not an entire OOC category for nothing. Also, keep all polls to the Poll Booth sub-board in the Cat's Meow.
Thank you for reading the rules. Remember them, follow them, and have a great time roleplaying!
